Player Info
Serena claimed her 9th Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open. That was her 32nd career title, the fourth this year.

Her first three titles came in Charleston, S.C, at the Sony Ericsson Open, in Key Biscayne, Florida, her fifth title here, tying Steffi Graff's record, and at the Bangalore Open in India.

Serena and her sister Venus captured the doubles gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China. They won it in Sydney in 2000 too. They also claimed the women's doubles title at Wimbledon.

Serena, along with Mardy Fish, won the 20th edition of the Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia.
