Franklin earns relief victory: Cardinals RP Ryan Franklin earned the victory Wednesday against the Mets after Troy Glaus hit a walkoff homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. Franklin needed 12 pitches to toss a perfect ninth in a 8-7 win. It was his first win since May 17 as he moved to 3-2.

Franklin has four blown saves this season and has struggled at times on the hill as the Cardinals' closer. He has allowed a hit in five of his last seven outings and has allowed two runs in that span. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on Franklin remaining the closer beyond the All-Star break now that Jason Isringhausen is healthy, but he's going to remain useful in leagues that reward saves in the short term.
