It is an interesting read in this espn article about how Tiger Woods should leave the PGA Tour and start his on international league.
Would it be a succes? Would golfers on the PGA Tour join it? Would fans watch it? Is Tiger Woods even going to come back healthy enough to even play golf?
It seems like a "good idea" but I mean the PGA Tour has been around forever and to think of having another league is just a little wierd to me. Would it work, I am not sure, but I guess anything is possible!
well yawk i say it would have to be a sucess everything the man does turns to gold...as i have stated in other threads i think we are witnessing the 1st billion dollar athlete well his reign of terror is all said and done and i am glad i can witness it.....peace the "Krak"
I just finished reading the article posted by ESPN....
If Tiger ever left the PGA to form his own league; it would leave BOTH the PGA and the European Tour devastated. Just imaging all the best players playing on the select best courses throughout the globe and skipping the existing tours. Heck, Tiger is the one reason why the purses are so high today. He could pull-off a tour of his own, but would he "bite the hand that feeds him"..?? Sure he could..... but I don't think he's ready.
Everyone should read the entire article.... it's well worth the time..
i think we are witnessing the 1st billion dollar athlete
Whether he is first, I don't know, but since he has already earned nearly $800m (combined on- and off- course earnings), and he presently earns over $100m in annual endorsements, he will probably surpass $1b just before 2010.
When Tiger turned pro, nine Tour members earned $1 million annually in pay. A decade later, that number is 99. Don't think pro golfers aren't aware how their bread is buttered.
too bad Fuzzy THE RACIST couldnt see into the future, or he would have kept his big mouth shut huh?....
